Meet Josie, a New Hope Cattle Dog Available For Adoption

Josie

 Meet Josie

Josie

Josie is a very sweet girl with a ton of love to give! She was found as a stray in Texas but since arriving in Colorado loves all things living in a house, especially snuggling with her foster parents! She is great in her crate and sleeps soundly in it over night (she wants me to say that peanut butter kongs are a plus). She’s quick to learn and already knows tricks like “sit” and is very treat motivated. Her foster parents’ friends come over often and she generally barks at them for a minute or two, but once she realizes they are nice she immediately melts into their arms for scratchies. Josie needs someone with patience to work on her leash reactivity. Right now, she has a hard time being on a leash and walking past people and dogs, but her foster parents are starting to work on it with a trainer and think that with the right person she can make a lot of continued progress! A single-dog home might be ideal, but she currently lives happily and reaction-free in a house with a foster-dog-sister. So, while the meeting would require some patience and care due to her reactivity, we think she could adjust to a multi-dog home. If you are willing to exchange some patience and training for a whole lot of love, Josie is the dog for you!
