Meet Scrappy, a New Hope Cattle Dog Available For Adoption

Scrappy

 Meet Scrappy

Scrappy

Hi! My name is Scrappy.  I think it's a pretty good name, because I have managed to survive some pretty bad situations.  I am so glad to be here in Colorado, because my time was running out at the shelter I was staying at in Texas.  Fortunately, the New Hope intake coordinator saw my profile and offered to help me.

I am a "cattle dog"/terrier mix (mostly terrier, but don't tell my foster sister, she thinks I'm a cattle dog), probably about 3-5 years old.  I weigh ~45 pounds; I am a medium sized dog.  I am super sweet, and love nothing more than to be around my humans and other dogs.  I get along with everyone really well. I am very mellow around the house, preferring to just lounge around until I get to go outside.  My foster parents say that I am a low-maintenance dog.  I love to go for walks, and play, and basically just do anything with you or my canine buddies!  I had heartworm when I showed up in Colorado, but I have made it through treatment and I am just waiting for the all clear before I am officially done.  Once I get the all clear, I will be neutered.    I am fully crate and house trained.  I am alright on the leash, but could use some additional work.  I need a brief refresher on the basics: come, sit, stay, etc, but I am ready to learn! I  am ready to be your best friend!
