Meet Buttercup, a New Hope Cattle Dog Available For Adoption

Buttercup

 Meet Buttercup

Buttercup

Buttercup surprised us with a litter of puppies on July 6th, so she will not be available to find her forever home until August 17th.

Buttercup was on death row in Texas as her owner never came to reclaim her from the shelter. Based upon her body and her current health we think that Buttercup was probably used as a puppy making machine and once she could no longer become pregnant wasn’t much use to the owner.

Better days are ahead of Buttercup now though. She is currently in foster care where she will start her treatment for heartworms and will also complete the rest of her general health vetting. At the end of her heartworm treatment she will be spayed as well.

Buttercup does well with other dogs on neutral territory  and when she meets dogs on a leash although she can be reactive towards other dogs once she is comfortable in her home setting. She would prefer to be an only dog but may be able to adjust into a home with one other dog. She has not met a car yet so we aren’t sure how she will do with those.

Buttercup is one of the sweetest older ladies. She is a pro cuddler and loves to give puppy kisses. She can’t wait to find a family where she can be queen been and live out her older years with a loving family and comfy place to rest her head.
