Meet Lea , a New Hope Cattle Dog Available For Adoption

Lea

 Meet Lea

Lea

Lea is a fun and energetic pup! She's smart, athletic, loving, beautiful and pretty quick to learn! This young cattle dog/border collie cross is all energy, wags and curiosity with soft floppy ears. She loves to run but will freeze immediately to be petted and will let you hold her face in your hands (she is still working on not jumping or nibbling your sleeves). She truly thrives on love and companionship and needs a lot of it right now. Lea is house trained, does well with other dogs and loves to play ball although she's learning to bring it back. She's very much a puppy in her enthusiasm and energy - ready to go for a run or bike ride or hike any day and needs daily exercise.
This dog is smart and observant. Lea has learned to use sit, lay down, go in her kennel, use a dog door, stand quietly for a bath/blow dry, be polite to a cat (has no real interest in them), ignore horses and goats and is learning to keep her affection to ground level and not jump with joy when she sees a friendly person. She is still working on not constantly trying to play with you but she does settle down and sleeps in her kennel through the night. She's trying hard to learn and understand all the time but can be a little stubborn and persistent. Outside of being rambunctious right now, she would be great with kids and is easy going once her energy has boiled off a bit. Lea would be a wonderful frisbee or agility dog if you want a companion to train in any athletic endeavor. She's constantly looking for a way to please you. Hasn't been chewing things around the house much but does like to move things around because she is mighty curious. If you want to give her a chance to run and play, she'll happily cuddle the rest of the night.
