Meet Riley, a New Hope Cattle Dog Available For Adoption

Riley

 Meet Riley

Riley

Riley was surrendered to New Hope when his owners felt like they could no longer provide him with the right home.

Riley is approximately 2.5 years old and a very loyal boy. He is all about his people and will strongly connect to one person specifically. He is the definition of a velcro heeler. NO APARTMENTS\CONDOS.  MUST HAVE FENCED YARD AND DOGGIE DOOR.  NEEDS TO BE EXERCISED EVERY DAY.

Riley's ideal home would be one with only one or two people who he can spend most of his time with. Unfortunately Riley CANNOT go to a home with children or one where he will be left alone.  Riley does well with some other dogs but doesn't get along with all dogs. He has experience being at doggie day care and has done well.   A meet and greet would need to be set up for him to meet the other dog if his forever family already has other dogs.  Riley has been fantastic with the cats in his foster home and has been very respectful of them so would be able to live with a kitty in the future.

Riley is very smart and knows many commands already such as sit, belly down, stay, and kennel. He loves to ride shotgun, loves the water, walks and would be an EXCELLENT running/hiking buddy.  The foster is working on leash reactive agression towards some dogs while he is in public.   He MUST HAVE an active home and a VERY experienced person with velcro heelers who is willing to continue working with him on leash to build his confidence.

Does Riley sound like your new best friend? If so, apply today!  Riley is in doggie boot camp working on his leash agression and will NOT be available for adoption until AFTER Memorial Day.
