 Meet Cowboy - COURTESY LISTING

Cowboy - COURTESY LISTING

Cowboy is a loyal, sensitive, deeply loving cuddle bug who just wants to be close to his person. He bonds deeply, loves wholeheartedly, and is looking for a home full of patience, understanding, and connection. Cowboy is 2 years old, weighs 47 lbs, and is a mix of Heeler, Border Collie, and Australian Shepherd—smart, active, and full of heart. Like many herding breeds, he does best with people who understand and appreciate their unique traits and are willing to guide him with calm confidence. Because of his natural herding instincts, we are hoping to find a home with no children or children ages 15 and up. Cowboy is an indoor dog who loves being around his people. He can experience some separation anxiety, but when his days include walks, frisbee time, and ball fetching, he settles beautifully. Cowboy truly benefits from having a friendly dog companion. With thoughtful introductions and consistent guidance, he does very well with other dogs. He thrives with a calm, confident companion who complements his energy and helps him feel secure. Because of his youthful energy, he would do best with a younger dog who can match his play style, as his enthusiasm can be a bit much for senior companions. With people, Cowboy is cautious and a bit reserved at first. With proper introductions and a little time, he warms up—His trust is something he gives thoughtfully, and when he does, it’s incredibly special. He has some noise sensitivity and prefers a quieter, more predictable environment. Cowboy is house-trained, loves cats, knows how to fetch, and adores frisbee and ball time. He has made wonderful progress over the past two years and He would do best with someone who has the time to continue building his confidence, continues to grow every day. A few encouraging “atta boys” go a long way with him. We are hoping to find a Colorado-based home where potential adopters are willing to meet Cowboy in person and, if they have a dog, arrange a gentle meet-and-greet to ensure everyone feels comfortable.Cowboy isn’t perfect—but he is deeply loving, incredibly loyal, and so very worth it. He’s looking for someone who sees his heart and is ready to walk alongside him. If you think Cowboy might be a good fit for your home, please reach out to j81penn@gmail.com or angelmay363@msn.com
