Meet Philo, a New Hope Cattle Dog Available For Adoption

Philo

 Meet Philo

Philo

Philo is a 3 year old male from Las Cruces, NM and arrived to New Hope on Tuesday 12 January 2021. He was very shy and jumpy his first night, but warmed up quite a bit by the second and third night. He loves getting affection, attention, and treats, and is a very exuberant boy! Philo responds very well when called and commands to leave it or stop. He is quickly learning how to sit, lay down, shake, and beg! He likes to be where the people are. His crate is a safe space for him and he has no issues going in, making noise, or making messes in it. He seems to be house trained apart from a couple of accidents within the first 24 hours. He does need leash work and he tends to get mouthy, but takes correction very well. In addition, he seems uncomfortable riding in the car if not in a crate. He has not been out with his foster siblings yet, but he will most likely be very dog friendly. Philo got neutered Friday 15 January 2021 and is healing very well.
