Rusty (Courtesy List)

Rusty is being listed for adoption as a courtesy to his owner. Interested adopters can contact Jess at coltonjl@gmail.com or 720-357-3974 for additional information. RUSTY'S BIO: Rusty may look like a lion, but rest assured he's a cattle dog through and through. He was born on July 24th to a Red Heeler/Belgian Malinois mix mom. His dad (our dog Cosmo...whoops!) is a Blue Heeler/Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix. Rusty will probably be a big boy and this guy is NO couch potato! Rusty is a beautiful teddy bear with the softest coat, but he likes snuggles on his own terms. Like all heelers, he's communicative with his mouth, loves to chase, and as a puppy he's very playful and curious. He is wicked smart and a bit willful, just like a proper heeler. He loves to chew and is known to steal bones from our other pups (and bury them in the yard!). We have a doggy door and he chooses to spend a lot of his time exploring the yard and lazing in the warm sun. He loves going for walks, though he will need someone to teach him not to pull and help him learn that he doesn't need to bark at other dogs (or people) while he's out. We have had Rusty with us for the last month and are absolutely in love with this little guy. He gets along so well with our Cosmo and our house full of kids. We would LOVE to keep him, but realize that he is going to require more one-on-one attention and training as he grows than we think we'll be able to provide. Rusty would do best with an experienced working breed owner who has a yard (or land!) for him to enjoy. He will be the perfect adventure buddy to join an active pack. He would love to have another dog in the house, though this isn't necessary as long as he is getting plenty of engagement (and belly rubs of course) from his people.
