Hello my name is Mikki, my heart is so full of love for people. I fall in love with everyone at first sight. Last year my human mom down in New Mexico passed away and her family couldn't take me in, In December, I traveled to Colorado with New Hope Cattle Dog Rescue in search of a new home. For the past five months I have been with a loving family who has been rescuing cattle dogs. I'm proud to say that I was a "failed foster" (meaning, they fell in love with me and couldn't give me up). In that amount of time I lost a lot of weight, learned how to be respect of my human's spaces, learned good control with food, and a few other common tricks.
The main reason why my temporary family has decided that this is not my permanent home is that I have trouble with other dogs. It's coming from a good place. They have worked with me to make this better, but it's something that still needs some patient work. The family would like to be able to go back to fostering other dogs like me and this seemed like a good path for that. I will do best in a home where my humans want to feel a lot of puppy love from me, but without other dogs in the home.
I am about three years old and I think that I'm mostly cattle dog, but my ears are floppy, so who knows? One thing I am 100% is love and affection.
