Meet Rue, a New Hope Cattle Dog Available For Adoption
Sweet Face Rue is a handsome fella who will steal your heart. He loves to be touched and enjoys a good amount of lap time. Rue is crate trained and seems to enjoy his time in it. Rue is house broken. Rue enjoys a walk and does pretty good on a leash once you get it on him. He has a need for speed - fast and nimble. Rue will be best suited in a home with a lot of yard, and playtime. Rue is a fast learner and will do well with someone who is up for the task too ongoing training with him. Things that the foster is working on: He has FOMO. He was turned in with another dog and the two of them are very attached. He can show jealousy if his fellow dog mate is getting attention. He automatically jumps or paws on his humans as his ask for everything. If your hand is free he thinks you need to be petting him. If your lap is open he thinks you need to be sat on. We limit lap time to the end of the day when we are watching TV. He gives amazing snuggles. Rue has played well with other dogs as long as it was just him and one other dog. He does get a little mouthy when he plays and when he is herding his humans but he releases with a correction word. Rue has puppy energy. He loves a squeaky toy and responds well to treats. No food aggression and has a healthy appetite. We love Rue and think he will be a great companion to the right person.
He needs a firm and loving trainer who bring out the best in him. Rues love language is touch.
