 Meet Kibo

Kibo

If you are looking for a shadow, I am your girl. My name is Kibo, it means “surprise” in Swahili and is also the tallest volcano peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. I was first rescued because I was abandoned with a broken jaw. Now that I’m healed, my heart broken mom realizes that I am best in a single dog home. My lower jaw is shorter and crooked, I am missing teeth and my tongue hangs out to the left but it adds to my big-eared character. I struggle to aim with my licks and can accidentally scrape you with my teeth while trying and I’m learning that my gentle mouthiness is not ok.

I currently live with a cat and intermittently jump at him, but am not aggressive. Because I am so people oriented, I would love for my new family to work from home but second best is having a yard to run in while you’re away.

I am a full cattle dog and need to be active. I have been running, hiking, mountain biking, camping and back country skiing. I love being outside and do better off leash in the mountains (voice and sound collar trained) then I do on leash in a neighborhood. I struggle with anxiety and prefer open spaces. I am great with adults but have never met kids. I have mixed feelings about dogs. I am best without other dogs and am happy being a shadow to my human. I specialize in snuggling.
