Meet Jake, a New Hope Cattle Dog Available For Adoption

 Meet Jake

Jake

Hi there, I'm Jake. I was found as a stray in Kansas and then made my way to CO with New Hope.

I am about a 2 year old heeler mix. We think I may be mixed with Husky or Akita as I am a little bit bigger, around 55 pounds and I love to be outside in the cold weather.

I am potty trained and crate trained. I am good with other dogs but lack self confidence and don't really understand how to interact with them. I watch from afar when all the other dogs in the house play. I wimper and wag my tail but I am not sure how to play with them yet, although I am getting better everyday.

Sometimes I growl when meeting new dogs but with a little correction I shake it off and then get along well with the other dog I am interacting with.

I need a family who is willing to help build my self confidence. I don't like walking on a leash very much but I am getting better everyday.

I love kids and will let them topple all over me and play with me and don't complain one bit. I think I would do okay living with a cat as I don't have much prey drive.

Just on the lookout for my forever family and I am hoping you're it.
